“When I entered adulthood I encountered intense anxiety for the first time. Making episodes with Boggo became a vehicle for me to process my mental health in a funny way.

BRENT SIEVERS
— CO-CREATOR OF THE LAND OF BOGGS

"The Boggs original character designs are based off of vintage clothes pins, and could be made of anything. One of my favorite Boggs was made out of tin foil!”

LIZZ HICKEY
— CO-CREATOR OF THE LAND OF BOGGS

The Land of Boggs is a BuzzFeed animated web series created by Brent Sievers and Lizz Hickey about two best buds learning to embrace the wondrous chaos that comes with growing up. The Streamy-nominated show follows the comical friendship of Boggo, an introvert with debilitating anxiety, and Boe, an extrovert who is allergic to responsibility, as they weave in and out of trouble. Whether it’s public speaking, embarrassing yourself in front of your crush, or simply trying to keep your plants alive, the Boggs team is here to reassure you aren’t alone. Masters of the short form content space, the Boggs’ concise, charming stories resonate with audiences and add a playful sense of shared humor to experiences we can all find a little uncomfortable, awkward, or confusing.

When Co-Creator Lizz Hickey first created the Boggs, she wanted them to always have a consistent design — one head and two legs regardless of configuration, color, or texture. The Boggs team starts by brainstorming relatable, everyday situations from their lives then blowing them up to insane cartoon proportions. Co-Creator Brent Sievers draws inspiration for characters and episodes from things he observes in his personal life. For example, Boggo and Mark are inspired by things Brent observes in himself, while Boe, Tiffany, and Candice are vastly inspired by his friends. Similarly, Boe’s parents are closely based on Brent’s parents in design and personality, while Aiden is based on a lot of Brent’s siblings growing up.

MEET THE CHARACTERS

Boggo

Boggo is our introverted star. A socially anxious neat freak who's terrified of making phone calls.

Boe

Obsessively loyal, outgoing, and street smart, Boe is everything Boggo is not. Boe's two modes are loud, attention seeking goofball and inactive couch potato.

Boe’s Parents

Kent lets his actions do the talking. Betsy lets her talking do the talking.

Aiden

Boe's little bro, Aiden is an anime loving dork who thinks of himself as an elite warrior. Ladies at school find him very attractive, but he hasn't got time for romance.

Mark

"Hooray Mark's here!" is a phrase rarely uttered. Mark's biggest aspiration is to be Boe and Boggo's 3rd wheel. Too bad they find him desperate and annoying.
